It s easy to identify the pistil by its three distinctive parts.

Reproductive parts of the flowering plant. When the two meet they produce a seed which creates a new generation of plants. The main female reproductive part of a flower is called the pistil. In summary there are two main reproductive parts of a flower a male part and a female part.

Coming out of the center of the pistil is a tube called the style. Produce male sex cells pollen grains stigma. Within the ovary multiple ovules eventually form into seeds.

The pistil contains one or more tubes called carpels each leading to an ovary. Attached to the top of the style is the stigma a sticky knob that catches pollen. The pistil is a structure within a flowering plant that contains female sex cells.

It consists of a pollen sac anther and a long supporting filament. The stamen which is male produces pollen. The male parts of the flower each consists of an anther held up on a filament anthers.

The pistil which is female houses the ovule. The top of the female part of the flower which collects. When pollen lands on a carpal or is delivered there by a pollinating insect it forms a thin pollen tube that reaches down to the ovary and fertilizes it.

On the bottom end the style attaches to the ovary the part of the plant that produces the ovules. The stamen is the male reproductive organ.
